This qualification is aimed at individuals who require the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support first aid and the use of a defibrillator in the workplace.
Approximately 18 hours is required for this course.
Roles and responsibilities of a first aider, assessing incidents, managing casualties who are: unresponsive and not breathing, managing casualties in shock, administering first aid to causalities with suspected: head, spinal, chest injuries, with burns, scalds, eye injuries. Knowledge on the safe use of an automated external defibrillator, commonly known as (AED) is also covered.
Learners will be assessed both theoretically and practically to ensure they meet the required competencies.
Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a certificate with a three-year validity period.
